Happy Easter 2012!!

We hosted our forth annual Easter Eggstravaganza yesterday with our close friends. We had a blast as the kids ran around the back yard hunting for eggs. I know I say this every year, but it still is so crazy to me how much bigger they get each year! This year was no exception. We had an awesome time celebrating the Easter weekend with our friends and being reminded of how greatly we are blessed! He is Risen!!

Bluebonnets 2012

Last year we weren't able to get any decent photos in the bluebonnets due to the horrible drought. This year, however, is a different story! They were popping up EVERYWHERE so we jumped on the chance to take some photos in the sea of blue! Our friends, the Montgomerys came along to get some shots of their own. Here are some of our shots...

Adoption Update: I Will Not Be Discouraged!

For those of you following our story, this is what we found out today.

First, we found out that it will be 30-45 days until CPS goes through all of the home studies submitted for the kiddos, and notifies us whether or not we\'re one of their top choices.

Secondly, we were told that there will be 100s of home studies submitted for these specific kiddos, so it will be a long shot for them to pick us. But I will not be discouraged!

Right now we are trusting God to place these kids with the perfect family, whether it is us or someone else. We desperately want them in our home, but know that He has a perfect plan, greater than we can imagine.

We rest in the peace that He knows what\'s best, both for us and these children. Only time will reveal His plan, and we eagerly await the day it unfolds. Your prayers for our patience in the waiting are greatly appreciated!

Adoption Update: Prayers please!

For those of you following our adoption journey, we have an update for you!

Today we submitted our home study to be considered for two babies, a brother and sister, to join our family. We are beyond excited (and a little nauseous) to actually have names of children that could potentially join our family. Before today, it\'s just been "hypothetical" children and a lot of speculations and "what ifs". Now, we have actual names and information of kids that could be ours!

Now, we are still VERY early in the process. We have submitted ourselves for consideration, as have many other families, I\'m sure. After the March 9th deadline, CPS will narrow down the interested families, and then decide from those which family is the best fit for the kiddos.

We are trying our best to not get our hopes us, but are praying for these two babies and that God would put them with the best possible family. We appreciate all prayers for this situation!

Adoption Update!

For anyone who's following along in our adoption journey, here's an update for you!

Our home study has been approved, and as of tomorrow, we'll be an "open home," meaning we can start accepting placement calls for kiddos beginning TOMORROW!!! We're crazy excited, and nervous, of course! Please continue to pray for us when you think of us!

June Avery Johnson

On Saturday morning, December 17th, at 4:45am, our beautiful niece, June Avery Johnson was welcomed in to this world! She weighed in at 8lbs. 3oz. (just one ounce shy of her big cousin, Isaac), and was 20 inches long. Jessica had the honor of being able to witness the whole miracle. Sarah (Jessica's sister) was AMAZING through the while birth and she and baby June are doing just great!!
