It's a BOY!

...or a MAN as Bill would like to say. That's right....after 20 weeks of waiting, we got to find out we're having a boy! The look on Bill's face was priceless when the sonographer told us we were having a little boy....and boy was it evident. Our little guy was displaying his goods all for everyone to see. :) Including his manhood, everything else was great as well. All ten fingers and all ten toes were seen, as well as the four chambers of the heart, his brain, spine, ribs, etc.
We could not be more excited to meet our little boy in May! Oh, and for those of you who have not already heard, his name is Isaac David Ramsour. We named him Isaac after Isaac in the Bible because his mother was not supposed to be able to have children, but God blessed them with a son. David is Bill's middle name and Bill's dad's first name.
The Ramsour name will continue!

Our baby boy's smiling face!

Our baby boy in all his glory! :)

We Have Movement!

So I haven't posted in a while because there hasn't really been anything all that fun and exciting to post about. However, this weekend brought a change to that! I had been feeling some fetal movement for about a week or so...and this weekend it started to feel more like kicks. I wasn't sure if they were strong enough for Bill to feel on my stomach, but he put his hand there and waited, and sure enough, he felt it! His face was so priceless! SO exciting! Everything has been going great so far...I could not have asked for a better pregnancy! We are truely blessed!

We'll update again next Monday after we find out if we're having a boy or girl!!! :)

Sonogram #2 Photos

Today we had our second sonogram, and everything looks great so far! Baby Ramsour was rolling all over and moving like crazy! Everything is still measuring perfect and on track for how far long I am. It was so crazy to see the facial features....it makes it so real! Before too long I'll get to start feeling all those movements! I can't wait!

11 Weeks Prego and NO MORE SHOTS!!!

Praise the Lord! So for those of you who didn't already know, part of the fun process that I have gotten to go through doing IVF is that from day 1 I have gotten to take nightly hormone injections for hormones that my body isn't naturallyl producing. Well, as of today I have reached 11 weeks in my pregnancy, and found out after my latest blood test today that I get to quit taking my hormone injections!!! I am sooo excited! This means that the placenta is starting to take over and do it's job, so no more nightly shots! I still have to go in for weekly blood tests to check my levels, but that is a breeze compared to nightly pokes! :) I have another doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we'll see if I have anything to update after that!

WOO HOO!!! Can you tell I'm excited!

And baby makes three!! :)

Yes, hard to imagine, but it's official. We are PREGNANT!!! After a long, drawnout ordeal, I am now 8 weeks pregnant (tomorrow). We figured that so many people knew about the pregnancy early that we might as well put it online. :) For those of you who don't know our crazy story...keep reading!

When Jessica was in high school, she was diagnosed with a disorder that, long story short, prevents her from producing eggs. The lead us to the decision that after we were married and were ready to start a family, that we would look into doing in vitro fertilization. Last April we had a consultation at Texas Fertility Center here in Austin with our doctor. She told us our options were to either use an anonymous egg donor, or use a "known" donor. When Jessica was first diagnosed, her sister made a decision to help Jessica if she ended up needing it in the future. So after our consultation, Jessica called her sister, and her sister immediately agreed to donate for us. Then began the tedious task of doctors appointments, exams, evaluations, and oh so fun shots! Jessica's sister was such a trooper through the whole ordeal...especially when the eggs were retreieved from her through surgery (her very first surgery). Her generosity continues to amaze us.

Two weeks after the embryos were fertilized and put into Jessica's uterus, we took a blood test, and found out that we were in fact pregnant! Since then Jessica has been going in for weekly blood tests to check her hormone levels, and we actually had our first sonogram last week. We got to see and hear our baby's heartbeat for the first time. There are no words to describe how amazing that is!!

So that is our story in a nutshell....stay tuned for the latest news!!!

Oh yeah...and May 6th is the due date!! :)
