Birthdays and reunions...

This past weekend was Jessica's birthday, and what a birthday it was! We packed our bags and headed to Brazoria, Texas for the weekend - to Jessica's grandparents' house (Dad's parents). We also saw her dad and his wife for the first time in over 8 years. My dad moved to Austrailia right after I started school at UT, and hasn't been able to make it back to the states since then. We honestly expected it to be a little awkward since we hadn't seen him in so long. But it turned out to be a WONDERFUL visit! It wasn't awkward at all. Isaac was a little ham and rolling back and forth all over the place for everyone. It was so great to see them again, as well as my dad's parents. And, to our surprise, we got the news that my dad and his wife are planning on moving back to the States in about a year! My dad had to resign from his job in order to come over, so they figured now was as good a time as any to start planning their move.
